ELIGIBILITY AND FAQS

Eligibility

In order to be considered for a Pinnacle InterTech Award, a technology must meet the following criteria. It must be:

  • Available for sale in the marketplace for three years or less
  • Proven in customer applications
  • Expected to have a significant impact on the commercial printing, digital textile, packaging, screen printing, wide format, or related industries
  • An innovation that has not already been recognized with a Pinnacle InterTech Award (see www.printing.org/intertech-technology-award-recipients for a list of recipients)

Pinnacle InterTech Awards are given to unique and innovative technologies. These technologies may be…

  • Part of a particular product
  • A family of products
  • An option or enhancement to an existing product
  • A standalone technology

Joint Entries

Joint entries are welcome when the combination produces a new technology. When more than one company has made significant contributions to the chosen technology, duplicate or joint awards may be given. In all cases, the judging committee is the final arbiter.

FAQs

What are the criteria for receiving a Pinnacle InterTech Award?

Awards are based on the judgment that a technology is truly innovative and likely to have a significant impact on at least a sector of the industry. The award recognizes technology innovation more than product excellence (which is recognized by the Pinnacle Product Award).  The following sections need completed during the entry submission:

  • Name of Technology
  • Technology Description
  • Detailed Technology information
    • Market Price
    • Year commercially available
    • Significance or innovation associated with technology
    • Efficiencies and/or return on investment of technology
  • Customer Testimonials
  • Supporting Material
  • Product images and company logo

Are there entry categories??

No, all technologies entered are judged against the above criteria, regardless of function and industry sector served..

How can I be sure you received my entry?

After you click “Finish and Pay” you will see an automated message acknowledging the entry. If you do not, please contact pinnacleintertech@printing.org.

What are the entry terms and conditions?

PRINTING United Alliance assumes all entries have permission from an appropriate party to enter the nominee. In the event that an entrant without such rights submits an entry, the entrant will not be eligible for the competition. PRINTING United Alliance is not liable for any copyright infringement on the part of the entrant. Submission of any entry acknowledges the right of PRINTING United Alliance to use it for exhibition and publication in any medium.

Timely submission of an entry meeting the eligibility requirements and payment of the entry fee as stated herein ensures that an entry will be reviewed and considered for recognition.

If an entry receives an award, the manner and details of announcing such nomination and award is strictly within the discretion of PRINTING United Alliance. We are committed to publicizing all Pinnacle InterTech Award recipients in the same manner.

Do you have to be based in the United States to participate?

We encourage and welcome entries from all over the world. All submissions must be in English to participate.

Is it possible to receive judge’s ratings and comments for my entry?

The general thoughts of the judging committee are provided so entrants can understand was caused their technology to receive an award, or not to receive one. Voting results are kept confidential.

How many entrants win a Pinnacle InterTech Award each year?

There is no set amount; the number varies based on the number of entries and how many technologies the judges decide are deserving of an award. Typically, 6-14 technologies are recognized in any given year.

Can I purchase additional Pinnacle InterTech LuciteTM stars for my team or other office locations?

Yes, additional awards can be purchased. Each additional award is $450 and includes shipping.

What exactly does the photo opportunity entail at the PRINTING United Expo?

There will be a scheduled date and time where you’ll have a photo taken with the InterTech star award and the award program manager. Details, date, and time will be provided to all award winners.

When will I be notified about the judges’ decision?

The person listed as the principal contact will be contacted by September 15, 2021.

When does the competition open?

The competition is open now and the site will remain open for entries until July 31, 2021.
